Format: Physical Book

Completed: 1/7/2023

What's it about: Pressfield discusses how we turn from an "amateur" (low level dedication to any craft) to a "pro" high level skill, dedication, and attention to a craft. Essentially, how to become a professional and the differences they display from amateurs.

Main Takeaway: Greatness doesn't just grow on trees. It has to be cultivated and attended to over decades. That is a process undertaken only when one becomes a "pro" and treats their craft like an actual job. You hear this from the best artists, they don't just work when they are inspired; they find inspiration through daily effort. A professional treats their craft like a job, not just a side hobby or hustle that will magically result in greatness. Greatness is manufactured out a professional, workmanlike approach to any trade.
